Literature Study (9) ‘Measure for Measure’ Act 5 Scene 1

William Shakespeare’s ‘Measure for Measure’ remains a significant text in a post-modern world, where the prosecutions of Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein have shed fresh light onto gender inequality and sexual abuse. I have taught this text many times and have used this specific resource to lead my teaching in the classroom, as a distance learning/homework assignment and even as a tool of revision – all have worked well for the students.

This beautifully engaging 20 slide PowerPoint lesson includes a starter activity, summary and analysis questions, an academic writing task, an extension task, theme tracking questions, a homework assignment and a plenary. This is a complete resource (approximately 2-3 hours teaching time) that requires no additional labour from the overworked teacher. Enjoy.

I am now a self-employed English tutor and pretty much a full-time Resource Author. This working life choice allows me to take care of my beautiful American wife and step-daughter, along with my own daughter from a previous relationship - we are a happy disfunctional, yet very loving, little family unit.
