Literature Study: The Complete ‘Beloved’ 16×2 hour lessons (Including an introductory lesson and 2x guided essay writing lessons)

Toni Morrison’s ‘Beloved’ remains an essential text to support our understanding of the post-modern dilemmas of racial inequality. I have taught this novel a number of times and have refined these resources at the close of every academic year. They work! I have successfully used these resources to lead my teaching in the classroom, as homework and distance learning materials and even as tools of revision – all have worked well for the students.
This bundle of resources includes 16×2 hour lessons: an introduction to the text lesson, two guided essay writing lessons and thirteen 2x hour lessons covering every chapter.
These PowerPoint lessons each contain a starter activity, a glossary of terms, summary and analysis questions, questions exploring themes, an academic writing task, an extension task, a homework assignment and a plenary. These are complete resources that requires no additional labour from the overworked teacher. Approximately two hours of structured classroom work per lesson. Enjoy!

I am a frontline teacher with 12 years state school experience from inner London schools, and a further 8 years experience teaching internationally in Mexico and Spain. I am now a self-employed English tutor and pretty much a full-time Resource Author. This working life choice allows me to take care of my beautiful American wife and step-daughter, along with my own daughter from a previous relationship - we are a happy disfunctional, yet very loving, little family unit.
