Yitzhak Averbuch Orpaz – “Words Calling for Mother” A Documentary film (61 Mn.)

Yitzhak Averbuch Orpaz, winner of the Israel Prize for literature, “tears up his umbilical cord of his soul with his teeth”, leaves his mother, father and sister and comes to Israel with his brother. Those who had remained behind were assassinated during the Holocaust.
His life story reveals to us a series of tumultuous events which formed the source of his writing. “You will not find a functional family in my books”, he says and adds: “All of my writing is about my mother, and is written through her eyes.”
He is asking his children for forgiveness for his behavior as a father.
He states that had he not been a writer he would not exist!
