Lowercase-to-Uppercase | Cut and Paste Alphabet Matching Practice

Give learners hands-on opportunities to recognize and match lowercase manuscript letters with their corresponding uppercase forms while adjusting the experience to fit their current learning needs.

This Lowercase-to-Uppercase Cut and Paste Alphabet Matching Practice combines letter recognition with a hands-on response. Learners begin with a lowercase letter, identify its corresponding uppercase form, and cut and paste the uppercase letter tile beside its match.

The resource includes Tailored—Focused, Tailored—Extended, and Standard learner work pages, allowing you to choose the format that best fits the learner and the experience rather than treating the formats as required levels. An additional circle-the-match activity provides another way to practice the same lowercase-to-uppercase relationships.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

  • Tailored—Focused Learner Work Pages
  • Tailored—Extended Learner Work Pages
  • Standard Learner Work Pages
  • Uppercase Cut-Out Letter Tiles
  • Additional circle-the-match practice

The practice covers the complete alphabet, with all 26 lowercase-to-uppercase letter relationships represented across the learner work pages.

FLEXIBLE HANDS-ON MATCHING PRACTICE

Learners recognize a lowercase letter, identify its corresponding uppercase form, select the appropriate letter tile, and place it beside the match. This keeps letter recognition and lowercase-to-uppercase correspondence at the center of the experience while giving learners a physical way to communicate each response.

Choose the work-page format based on the learner and the purpose of the experience. Cutting can remain part of the activity when appropriate, or the uppercase tiles can be prepared in advance so the learner can focus on recognizing, selecting, and placing the matches.

On the second work page, learners continue working with lowercase-to-uppercase correspondence through circle-the-match practice, changing the response while maintaining the same letter relationship.

KEEP THE LEARNING GOING
