In this Lowercase-to-Uppercase Color-Cued Alphabet Matching Practice, learners identify a colored target lowercase manuscript letter, scan four uppercase choices, and color the rectangle containing its corresponding uppercase form.

COLOR-CUED VISUAL-CHOICE PRACTICE

The color cue identifies the target lowercase letter while the learner scans four uncolored uppercase choices for its corresponding form.

Choose Tailored—Focused, Tailored—Extended, or Standard work pages based on the learner and learning experience. Then choose Modeled Practice when an example would help clarify the expected response or Independent Practice when that support is not needed.

The work-page format and modeling support can be selected separately rather than treated as fixed levels.

If scanning four choices adds unnecessary difficulty, some choices can be temporarily covered and revealed as appropriate. If coloring interferes with demonstrating letter recognition, another clear response, such as pointing or placing a marker, can be used when the goal is identifying the matching letter.
